Lithium batteries have affected all aspects of our lives. Mobile phone batteries are lithium batteries. Generally speaking, lithium battery refers to a kind of battery in which the material containing lithium (Li) is used in the electrode material. Our common lithium battery is a secondary battery that can be recharged and discharged for many times. When the battery is charged, lithium ions are generated on the positive electrode and transferred to the negative electrode through the electrolyte. The more lithium ions transferred, the greater the charging capacity. In the same way, when the battery is discharged (that is, when we use the battery), the lithium ion returns from the negative pole to the positive pole. The more lithium ion returns to the positive pole, the higher the discharge capacity.
Lithium battery can be widely used because of its high voltage, light weight, high energy storage density, long service life, low self-discharge, no memory effect and no toxic substances such as lead, mercury and cadmium.
